Cologne,
which got its name from the Romans is the oldest of the major German
cities. Their influence is still recognizable through foundations and
sections spread over the city. Today Cologne offers itself with a romantic
Old Town, theatres of every kind and its unique selection of churches,
against the background of its long and chequered history, as a vibrant,
charming city in which the people like to live, and not only at the
famous Carneval.
