The most important
event taking place on the threshold of the new millenium is the first
world exposition ever held in Germany. From 1st June until 31st October
2000, the Federal Republic intends to make the most of this opportunity
to present itself to the world and join with other nations in seeking
ways towards a better future for our planet. The central theme of Expo
2000 is 'Humankind-Nature-Technology'. The world exposition will show
how the world community can effectively meet the ecological and economic
challenges it faces. It will try to explain how humankind can use technology
in order to achieve a new harmony with nature. Over 40 million visitors
are expected to this spectacular event.
