Stuttgart has a unique
topographical position in between forests, vineyards, parks and gardens
and can also rightly be called Germany's largest wine village. The importance
of Stuttgart's culture is shown by the variety theatres and museums. Its
opera house is home to the world-renowned 'Staatsballett', and the Swabian
easy-going nature is at its peak during the 'Suttgarter Weindorf' and
the world's second biggest beer festival, the 'Cannstadter Wasen'.

SCHILLERPLATZ and its monument, and the newer one, the 217 metre-high

with its fountains, music pavillion and the Jubilee Column as well as
the OLD renaissance PALACE.
Further

garden, which has over 9000 animals as well as exotic flowers and plants,
and the PORSCHE MUSEUM and the MERCEDES MUSEUM, which are
both very popular with car fanatics. For shopping there is a big choice
at the KOENIGSTRASSE, Germany's longest pedestrians-only shopping
boulevard. The urban entertainment centre - 'Stuttgart International'
(SI-CENTRE) -offers musicals , a casino, shopping arcades and a
luxury bathing and sauna area.
